The Art League of Henderson County announces: “City of Four Seasons”  

In this all-seasons themed exhibit, stir up your creativity, from your memories in all seasons throughout the year, take your inspirations in great abundance everywhere you turn in Hendersonville and Henderson County.  Your paintings, mixed media, fine art photography or 3D crafts, incorporated to immerse the viewers that transport them to the pieces of place, time, event, holiday, tradition, landscapes across the county, filled with their own memories.  We hope your artwork sparks a fresh appreciation for Hendersonville and Henderson County; This is our home.

Artworks may NOT be removed early.  On an individual basis, delayed pick-up may be arranged by contacting the Exhibit Committee Chair.
 
SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Works must be original, 2-D, 3-D, painting, drawing, mixed media, or fine-art photography. 
  • All submissions must be original human creations; No AI-generated pieces will be accepted.
  • They must be appropriately framed and ready to hang with wire hangers (no sawtooth hangers can be accepted). 
  • Maximum size for this show (including frame) is 30"x30”.  Three-dimensional work must be no taller than 15”.
  • All works must be appropriately identified on the back with the artist’s name and contact information. 
  • Works may be available for sale by the artist but MUST REMAIN IN THE EXHIBIT FOR THE DURATION OF THE SHOW.  NO EARLY PICK-UP.  Neither the library nor its staff will have any responsibility regarding sales. If a sale is made, the artist must contact the Exhibit Committee Chair for instructions. 
  • To indicate that a piece is Available for Purchase, select “Yes” option on the registration form.  No exact prices can be listed. 
  • You have an option to upload a photo of your artwork on the last step of the registration, but it is not required, images will be used on the Art League website and for PR purposes.

ENTRY PROCESS:
  • DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATIONS is September 22, 2025.  All registration must be submitted electronically. Exhibiting artists will submit a completed registration form through the ALHC website < -- REGISTRATION FORM (CLICK HERE) -- >. The online registration form also contains the Art League's electronically signed waiver of liability. No paper registrations will be accepted.  Artwork will be accepted on a first come basis until available space is filled.

October Member Show at Art Place Gallery

We are excited to show your work in October!

Space will be limited to register early! We will need to cut off entries as soon as we hit our capacity based on sizes of work.
We will have a special exhibit of Sue Fazio's work as a feature artist. This is a format we are beta testing for October and December in our gallery. The board will evaluate how these go and will decide how a program may look in 2026. Stay tuned.

Application details:

Art League Member Registration Fee:  $20  (This month we are limiting registration to 1 entry per member due to space restrictions)
Commission: 30% to the Art League

3D Artists (including jewelry) - you may bring in 5 pieces of work for your registration fee.
2D artists working small- You may submit up to $300 retail value in artwork for your registration fee.
*Please note due to our hanging system very small pieces may be displayed on a table or shelf.

Registration Deadline: Friday September 26,  MIDNIGHT
Art Drop Off:  Tuesday September 30,  Time:  10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Opening Event:  Friday October 3,   5 - 7 pm
Pick up of unsold work- Tuesday November 4, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm


Size limitation-  60 inches in any direction
Display requirements:  If your work requires a special display component, please provide it.

Important Please Read - New exhibit rules (not guidelines, but rules that will be enforced):
All wire must be plastic coated.  Our new hanging system requires coated wire in order for artwork to hang securely.
All wire must be tight enough and installed low enough so that when you hold the wire as if hanging work it does not show above the frame.
No sawtooth hangers.
No eye hooks - D-rings only
Hanging rods or dowels require loops that can be suspended from a hook. (no nailing in to walls can be done in the new gallery)
Every piece of artwork must be securely labeled on the back or attached with artist name, title, price, medium, size
All artwork on 7/8 inch thick canvases (the really thin ones) must be framed,edges painted, and framed.
No plastic, damaged, loose, or poorly repainted frames.
All deep gallery wrapped (1-1/2 inch plus) artwork must have edges painted.
No wet or tacky paintings will be accepted.
All paintings must be signed by artist in appropriate location.
The Art League reserves the right to remove any work from the exhibit that does not meet these rules or that is deemed inappropriate.
