The Art League of Henderson County announces: “Vibrant Spring”

Show the community your artistic creativity through the upcoming Library Exhibit themed, “Vibrant Spring.” Your 2D or 3D artwork is welcome to grace our Hendersonville Library display areas. There are two walls and display cases assigned by the library for our use. Space is limited, so don’t delay.

Artworks may NOT be removed early.  On an individual basis, delayed pick-up may be arranged by contacting the Exhibit Committee Chair.
 
SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Works must be original, 2-D, 3-D, painting, drawing, mixed media, or fine-art photography. 
  • All submissions must be original human creations; No AI-generated pieces will be accepted.
  • They must be appropriately framed and ready to hang with wire hangers (no sawtooth hangers can be accepted). 
  • Maximum size for this show (including frame) is 30"x30”.  Three-dimensional work must be no taller than 15”.
  • All works must be appropriately identified on the back with the artist’s name and contact information. 
  • Works may be available for sale by the artist but MUST REMAIN IN THE EXHIBIT FOR THE DURATION OF THE SHOW.  NO EARLY PICK-UP.  Neither the library nor its staff will have any responsibility regarding sales. If a sale is made, the artist must contact the Exhibit Committee Chair for instructions. 
  • To indicate that a piece is Available for Purchase, select “Yes” option on the registration form.  No exact prices can be listed. 
  • You have an option to upload a photo of your artwork on the last step of the registration, but it is not required, images will be used on the Art League website and for PR purposes.

ENTRY PROCESS:
  • DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATIONS is December 22, 2025.  All registrations must be submitted electronically. Exhibiting artists will submit a completed registration form through the ALHC website < -- REGISTRATION FORM (CLICK HERE) -- >. The online registration form also contains the Art League's electronically signed waiver of liability. No paper registrations will be accepted.  Artwork will be accepted on a first-come basis until available space is filled.

April Gallery Call - Member Show AND Fabulous FAKES!
4/1/2026 - 3/17/2026

The April show is coming and that means Fabulous FAKES time!  This will be in conjunction with our regular member show.
All artists and mediums are invited to register. Please read all details, dates, and instructions in the call.
 
Application details:
The exhibit will run from April 1st-25th
April FEES  Member Registration Fee is $15 per entry (You may register twice, you decide which show or both)
After you complete the first registration and get a confirmation, go back through again and choose your second package.
5 pieces per 3D registration.
3 pieces per 2D registration if retail value is under $300 combined

Only upload a Fabulous Fakes original master work.  No image upload for regular member show.

Fabulous Fakes
ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
  • You must be a member of the Art League.
  • Entries must be an adaptation of an old master or of a prominently recognized artist.
  • Fakes need to include a visual twist or change that makes your piece uniquely yours.
  • One entry per artist and the work needs to be suitable for all ages to view.
  • Maximum size, 60 inches in any direction.
  • The artwork needs to be properly wired for hanging. See wiring requirements for all gallery pieces below.
  • There is a $15 entry fee to be paid online during registration.
  • All artworks must be for sale. There is a 30% commission on sold work that will go to the gallery in which the sale took place.
  • A digital image of the original you are faking must accompany your submission.  Be sure to have this image uploaded to your computer or phone before you start the registration. It will make things easier. 

IMPORTANT DATES
Registration Deadline: March 27th,  midnight OR when we hit gallery capacity, register early!
Art Drop Off:  Monday, March 30th, 2026   10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Opening Event:  Friday, April 3rd from 4:00  to 7:00 pm.
Art Pick Up:  Monday, April 27th, 2026  10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Commission: 30% to the Art League
Size limitations for all mediums:  60 inches in any direction
Display requirements:  If your work requires special display element, please provide it.

Important Please Read - New exhibit rules (not guidelines, but rules that will be enforced):
All wire must be plastic coated.  Our new hanging system requires coated wire in order for artwork to hang securely.
All wire must be tight enough and installed low enough so that when you hold the wire as if hanging work, the wire is below top of frame.
No sawtooth hangers.
No eye hooks - D-rings only
Hanging rods or dowels require loops that can be suspended from a hook. (no nailing in to walls can be done in the new gallery)
Every piece of artwork must be securely labeled on the back or attached with artist name, title, price, medium, size
All artwork on 7/8 inch thin canvas must be framed and if in floater frames, edges painted
No plastic, damaged, loose, or poorly repainted frames
All wrapped canvas artwork must have edges painted
No wet or tacky paintings will be accepted
All paintings must be signed by artist in appropriate location
The Art League reserves the right to remove any work from the exhibit that does not meet these rules or that is deemed inappropriate
