A Contour Drawing Workshop

There’s a moment—right before you decide a drawing is “bad”—where something interesting is about to happen. We’re going to hang out there.

In this workshop, you’ll keep your pencil moving and your inner critic… mildly distracted. No lifting, no erasing, no fixing that one line that went rogue and is now, frankly, living its own life. Good. Let it.

Contour drawing is less about drawing things “correctly” and more about noticing them—edges, curves, awkward little intersections you’ve probably never really seen before. Your eyes lead, your hand follows, and somewhere along the way, perfection quietly excuses itself.

This is for anyone who’s ever said “I can’t draw,” or “I used to, but…” or “Is this supposed to look like a shoe?” (Yes. It is now.)

Expect wobbly lines, unexpected beauty, and a growing suspicion that mistakes might actually be the most interesting part. A small act of rebellion, disguised as drawing.

You’ll leave with a stack of imperfect, lively drawings—and maybe the feeling that there’s a whole world hiding in plain sight, just waiting for you to… draw the line.

(Somewhere in there, if you’re paying attention, the line might even start to feel like a language—strange, playful, and entirely your own.)

Pens and paper will be supplied, but you are encouraged to bring a sketchbook measuring 5" x7" or slightly larger.
