You’re warmly invited to a relaxed, joyful workshop where watercolor meets collage and curiosity leads the way. In this friendly, no-pressure space, we’ll explore how paint, paper, texture, and intuition come together to create layered, expressive artwork—no experience required.
We’ll begin with loose, flowing watercolor images, then build depth and story through collage using beautifully curated papers and materials. You’ll learn simple, approachable techniques for composition, layering, and color play, while being encouraged to trust your instincts and follow what delights you.
This workshop is perfect for beginners, seasoned artists looking to loosen up, and anyone craving a creative pause. Come as you are—everything you need is provided. You’ll leave with one or more finished pieces and that wonderful feeling of having made something just for the joy of it.
Come play with color
Explore texture and layering
Connect with others in a warm, welcoming environment
No pressure. No perfection. Just creative exploration.
All supplies included—bring yourself.
Artist Bio:
Miriam Hughes is a watercolor and mixed-media artist, educator, and longtime creative explorer known for her warm, encouraging teaching style and playful use of color and texture. With a background as a medical and geophysical illustrator, she brings a deep understanding of layering, structure, and observation—while joyfully breaking the rules in her current work through watercolor and collage.
Miriam is the perfect guide for this workshop because she creates spaces where curiosity replaces judgment and experimentation is the goal. She specializes in helping beginners feel confident and experienced artists feel free again, offering clear guidance, gentle permission to play, and a deeply human approach to making art. Her workshops are less about “getting it right” and more about discovering what happens when you trust your hands, your instincts, and the process.
