This is a lecture/discussion of the origins of modern art by focusing on a few pieces of art from the MOMA collection from 1880-1914. Our topic is to discuss how modern artists challenged the notion that art must realistically depict the world and the historical influences at play.

Artist Bio:
Penny Donald is a recovering former public school art teacher who left the profession to be a real estate instructor and productivity coach. Switching into real estate allowed her to travel and study at modern art museums, a passion of hers over the past 30 years. She wants to show you how you can look at art and discuss it without feeling intimidated by it!
