Creating Collage in Abstract
Instructor: Diane Dean
Date: February 22, 2024, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Location - Art Place Gallery Classroom
Members: $115 ; Non-members $130
Artist Diane Dean will lead this one-day class during which students explore techniques in collage on stretched canvas. Students will combine papers, fabric, paint and drawing graphics to create one large collage. The goal of this workshop is to work quickly with no focal point, but more to distributed materials covering the entire canvas with small details randomly all over the canvas. At the completion of the class students will choose sections from the total collage to use for three (or more) collages for matting a framing. An example of the results of one of these exercises is in the Art Place Gallery with the instructor's samples. All papers, canvas, tools and paint will be provided. Students will be able to choose from a wide variety of paper and found object and also bring their own if they wish. Be prepared to have fun with collage!
