About the Class:  Make a traditional Slavic Motanka Grain doll for prosperity, abundance, protection and love. These cute dolls will make a perfect Christmas ornament or enchanted gift. Motanka is a traditional Slavic doll created entirely without sewing. During the class I will teach you how to make Motanka in accordance with the ancient traditional techniques originated in Ukraine and Belarus. The directions are simple and you will be able to make many more for everyone in your family! 
In the Slavic Tradition, the Grain Doll is a nesting protector of the homesteads, she brings good luck, love, prosperity, and protection. Her belly is filled with grains that symbolize wealth and abundance.  She can be additionally filled with dried herbs, and flowers, essential oils, and spices. The aroma will last for a very long time!

Supplies:  essential oils, herbs, grains & magic are provided but feel free to bring your own personal fabrics and any materials that reflect the intention /vision with which you will create the doll. I might not have the ‘right’ fabric, and these dolls are picky and very fashionable. Getting the fabrics and supplies ready is a beneficial process in itself, as you reflect on the spirit of the season, the meaning behind beauty, love, and sharing, while you choose the materials that reflect your emotions, your wishes, and hopes and the things you want more in your life.

Please bring scissors, water, and any snack of your choice.

Artist Bio:  Pati Becker is an intuitive guide, workshop facilitator, and living from a wild heart aficionado.
She dares you to follow the call of your own wild heart and courageously shed the collective fog that tells you how you are supposed to live your life.
Her favorite methods to awaken your true potential are creating art from the heart, working with archetypes, rituals & ceremonies.
Pati is originally from Poland, she calls Hendersonville her favorite place on Earth since she moved here in 2017.
