About the Class: Motanka is a Slavic doll created with an intention, in a ritual way, entirely without sewing, and with lots of positive energy.
ZIARNUSZKA (Ziar-nush-ka) is a Grain Doll and I will teach how to create her in accordance with the ancient traditional techniques.
There are many ways to make a Motanka doll, depending on the intention, materials, and even the time of the year.
Grain doll is a nesting protector of the homesteads, she brings good luck, love, prosperity, and protection.
Her belly is filled with grains that symbolize wealth and abundance like corn, rice, or buckwheat husks.

Supplies: I provide the supplies, but students are encouraged to bring some personal fabrics/jewelry for the doll, it makes the experience more unique and authentic.
Artist Bio: Pati Becker is an intuitive guide, workshop facilitator, and living from a wild heart aficionado.
She dares you to follow the call of your own wild heart and courageously shed the collective fog that tells you how you are supposed to live your life.
Her favorite methods to awaken your true potential are creating art from the heart, working with archetypes, rituals & ceremonies.
Pati is originally from Poland, she calls Hendersonville her favorite place on Earth since she moved here in 2017.
