Leather-Covered, Edge-Marbled Book Workshop
Instructor: Anne Murray
Class date: 3/18/23 - 9 am to 4 pm; 3/19/23, 1:30 pm - 4pm
Fee: Members $185; Non-members $200
Maximum class size is 6
Create a leather-covered, edge-marbled book in a weekend! We’ll spend Saturday exploring the art and magic of marbling (floating acrylic pigment on thickened water, manipulating it in a variety of planned ways, and printing a unique sheet). Once you have explored, learned, and practiced patterns you’ll be ready to transfer a marbled print to leather and also to marble the edges of a prepared text block. On Sunday, once everything has dried, we will assemble the parts into a finished book. Each student will depart with one leather-covered book and multiple sheets of marbled paper suitable for a variety of creative endeavors.
No experience is necessary.
Instructor will supply all materials and equipment. Students may wish to wear an apron for marbling.
