Event Description
Instructor: Heidi Brickhouse
Date: 10/17/2025
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm
Member: $65 Non-Member: $75
This class is an entry-level workshop where students will learn the brick stitch weave pattern to create a pair of earrings to take home. We will be using glass seed beads and go over all of the basic materials used to craft beaded pieces. All necessary materials will be provided, so all you need to do is come with a willingness to try something new!
As this course is just an introduction, I won’t dive too far into all of the various options and weave patterns. If you decide that this is a medium you enjoy and you want to know more, I have an advanced beginner class available on November 8th. In that course, we will go more in-depth with learning about other materials, common pitfalls, and how to fix them, and even how to create your own designs.
Artist Bio:
Heidi Brickhouse grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina. She found the beauty in her natural surroundings to be a driving force behind her artistic expression. Several years ago, she decided to explore more of our picturesque country by hitting the road full-time in her converted school bus. During her travels, she has been fortunate to experience a wide variety of landscapes and wildlife.
Living tiny drew Heidi to one of the smaller mediums you could choose, seed beads. Although she attended Appalachian State University for her B.S. in Commercial Photography, she is self-taught in the art form of bead weaving. She loves that the medium allows her to explore a vast field of colors and motifs while still creating something wearable and tangible.
