About the Class: Creating an abstract series of collage from one large collage. Student will assemble a large collage (24 x 36) on canvas with the goal of cutting it up into multiple pieces to create a series. This is a fun way to produce a balance tryptic that will have unified design and color. Papers will be provided and adhesives, plus embellishing materials.
Supplies: Students should bring a roll of paper towels and one 24 x 36 inch stretched canvas. Canvas does not have to be deep profile, but the less expensive profile since they will be cut into pieces.
Artist Bio:
“My work is representational and draws on the colors and rhythms of nature. I build layers of texture in my fine art pieces that push the boundaries of the 2D category.”
Award winning artist, Diane Dean, mixed media/collage and acrylic painter who although she has been painting for over twenty years, she spent much of her professional life in the graphic arts technology field. Throughout her career Diane has presented seminars and lectures in graphic design concepts, color theory and the use of technology in the development of visual communications. She is also the president of the Art League of Henderson County and her work can be found at the Art Mob Gallery in Hendersonville.
