Event Description
The Art League of Henderson County Announces: “Let the Light Shine Through…”

As part of the Art League’s ongoing exhibits in the Henderson County Library, we are excited to announce a new exhibit called, “Let the Light Shine Through.”  This theme focuses on the contrast between light and shadows, dark and light colors.  A variety of subjects and mediums depict the ways light interplays with architecture, atmosphere, landscapes, objects, or shapes.

Lisa Beam, Community Exhibits Chair, delves deeper into this theme by asking, “What comes to mind when you look at Monet’s Mornings on the Seine series, or what do you visualize when you read the words of Charles Dickens in Great Expectations: ‘It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.’”?

This promises to be an exciting and expressive exhibit where the viewer can explore their own feelings, thoughts, and moods while studying how the various exhibiting artists interpret the subject.
