About the Class: What is Powertex textile hardener?
How can it be used to create amazing texture and depth in your mixed media?
Come and find out as Susan Prater Crowe offers her first canvas mixed media class at Art Place Studios. Students will learn how to use Powertex textile hardener liquid and powdered Power Color pigments to create yummy texture on a multilayered 10.5” x 14” and art board. We will incorporate decorative papers, fabric, and skeleton leaves into the project. To finish off the project, we will add even more texture and depth with acrylic paints and Powertex’s cold wax, Power Wax. https://tinyurl.com/5n89d3dw
Supplies: All Powertex materials and art supplies to complete the project.
After the class, instruction sheets and a supply list outlining the complete project will be emailed to participants.
Students must bring:
A box of disposable gloves.
A heat gun.
An apron or smock.
Artist Bio: Susan Prater Crowe, aka SPC, is a multidimensional explorer and mixed media enthusiast. Her passion for art is inspired by never-ending curiosity and a fascination with the exciting world of experimental art mediums. The eclectic nature of Susan’s art is often characterized by layers of depth, infused with colorful lyricism, resonance, and a plethora of tactile surfaces. She has become known for her animated and creative approach to composition, sculpture, abstract painting, and assemblage. Her unique and proficient teaching style implores the imagination as it unleashes a treasure trove of possibilities and interpretations.
