About the Class: Learn how to mix your watercolors while creating a unique color wheel that is a frameable work of art in itself for future paintings. Unlike printed commercial color wheels that you can buy, you will be creating one or more of your own while gaining confidence in your ability to work with a limited palette.
Most importantly you will learn how complementary colors are created and used in your work.  This class is perfect for beginners and an invaluable tool for experienced artists who may have forgotten some of the simpler magic of creating great paintings.

Supplies:  All supplies will be provided which include:
- brushes
- watercolors (professional grade)
- paper
- printed color wheel (2 sizes)
- watercolor palette
- paper towels
- handouts
-water & water containers
These supplies are included and would cost the attendee $25.00 if bought separately.

Artist Bio:

As a former medical and scientific illustrator, my primary medium of choice was pen and ink. Color was considered a luxury that my clients didn't typically require for the work I produced. After undergoing a few career shifts, I began to yearn for the freedom to create my own artwork with vibrant colors. I embarked on a journey of studying pastels, acrylics, and watercolors.
Through this exploration of various mediums, I discovered a passion for watercolors. Several years ago, I made the deliberate decision to focus exclusively on watercolor as my artistic medium of choice.
My understanding of the intricacies of watercolor developed through attending workshops held in various locations across the southern states. However, I truly felt myself flourish as an artist when I took on the role of teaching workshops. Guiding and sharing my knowledge with adult students, many of whom have gone on to win awards, secure placements in prestigious galleries, and experience continuous growth in their own work, has been a deeply fulfilling experience.
Presently, my artwork is showcased in two locations: a gallery in Asheville and another in Hendersonville. As time progresses, I've come to see myself more as a collaborator rather than solely a teacher. In these workshops, I've discovered that I continue to learn and grow alongside my participants, fostering a dynamic and mutually enriching artistic community.
